  • Sunday Afternoon Road Rides:  Still ongoing is a ride that starts at 1pm at The Bike Shop at the corner of 10th & North Ave.  Meet behind the shop, be prepared, "no babysitting", and expect a fun & fast 2-3 hour ride.  Rain?... stay home because Bryan won't be here.  See you next week!
  • Wednesday MTB Rides:  Show up at the shop at 5:45.  If the weather is nice we'll depart shortly thereafter.
  • Tuesday/Thursday Road Rides:  Meet at the Handball Court at Canyon View Park (24 Rd. and G Rd.) for a prompt 6:00pm departure.  This ride is aggressive with A and B groups, and sometimes more.
Local Riding News:
  • Trail conditions:  Super!
  • A letter from our friends at Colorado National Monument:
    Hello riders,
"Glassy Smooth"  "The Best Ride in the Valley"  Yes the Colorado Monument has wonderfully smooth new asphalt and is more than ready to ride.
A few things to remember when heading out to do the Monument.  Remember your headlight for the tunnels, plenty of water, ride single file and use good commonsense.  Share the Road!!!

Watch out for heavy truck traffic on the east entrance. Mesa County is doing some more work up toward Glade Park .
As for Monument road from South Camp down to Broadway and the promised shoulder-widening project the road again is glassy smooth and open for bicycle traffic.
Here are a few words forwarded to me from a county employee involved in the road construction projects around the Grand Valley.

While I'm on the subject of construction projects portions of I Road will be reconstructed over the next two years.  This year beginning in July we hope to rebuild the hills at 2475 I Road and 2522 I Road.  Next year we hope to rebuild the hills between Quail Run and approximately 2575 I Road.  I know this is a very popular lower valley cycling route so please notify folks that full road closures will be allowed during these construction projects. Once again, I apologize in advance for the inconvenience.
That's all I have for now. Hope this helps a few of you. Keep riding safe!
